
Former Falcon Basketball Star to Play Pro Ball in Ireland's Top League
MISENHEIMER, N.C. – A recent graduate of the Pfeiffer University men’s basketball program has signed a professional contract to play ball in Ireland’s Super League, the highest league level in Ireland. James Crowder, from nearby High Point, inked a deal with UCD-Marian out of Dublin playing under head coach Frank Ryan. Read more

Women's Cross Country Selected Fifth in Preseason Polls
HIGH POINT, NC - The Queens University of Charlotte women’s cross country team starts the 2010 season as Conference Carolinas preseason favorite as voted upon by conference head coaches. The Lady Falcons of Pfeiffer University were selected fifth. The Royals return their top three from the 2009 Conference Championship team and all three are coming off of spring track seasons that saw them post NCAA national-qualifying marks. Queens will be led by senior Jessica Neville who provisionally qualified in the 10,000-meters as did junior Holly Annas. The Royals also return 2009 Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year Maraya Slatter, who was a national track qualifier in the 800-meters. Read more

Men's Cross Country Picked Fifth in Preseason Coaches Poll
HIGH POINT, NC - Queens University of Charlotte has been selected to the No. 1 spot in this year’s preseason poll as voted on by league head coaches. After two years of seventh place finishes at the NCAA National Championships, the Royals are not only set to defend their perfect-score Conference Carolinas Championship title, but are also hoping for a top-three national finish. Lady Falcon Volleyball Slated for #2 Finish in Preseason Coaches Poll
HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team has been voted the 2010 Conference Carolinas preseason favorite by league head coaches. The Lady Bobcats won the 2009 regular season with a 29-6 overall and 17-1 league record and took the conference tournament championship, giving them 10 of the last 11 conference tournament titles. They earned a bid into the NCAA Tournament but fell in five sets to Flagler in the first round. Pfeiffer University placed in second with three first place votes while Limestone rounds out the top three. Read more

Women's Soccer Tabbed # 2 in Preseason Coaches Poll
HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Belmont Abbey College women’s soccer team has been picked as the preseason favorite by Conference Carolinas league head coaches for the upcoming season. The Abbey women’s team returns 15 players from last season’s unit that went 14-6 overall with a 9-2 league mark and captured the Conference Carolinas title. Pfeiffer University comes in at number two followed by Queens rounding out the top three. Read more
