Papp Joins Women's Basketball Staff

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer head women’s basketball coach Jill Thomas announces Christian Papp will join the Falcon’s staff as assistant coach this season. Papp most recently comes from Lincoln Memorial where he primarily concentrated on developing post players. At Pfeiffer, Papp’s will focus on post play, film breakdown, strength training and recruiting.
“I am very pleased to have Christian as a part of our program,” said Coach Thomas. “He brings a wealth of experience and excitement. I believe we have found a truly good fit for the Pfeiffer program and I look forward to getting to work with him. Christian does a wonderful job with recruiting quality student athletes with good character. I feel fortunate to have found someone with the experience and work ethic that Christian has.”
From 2004 to 2006 Papp gained operations experience at Valparaiso University. He then gained further coaching experience at Indiana University South Bend from 2006 to 2008. While at IUSB, Papp developed the Titan defense and coached 1st team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-American post players. He also served as Recruiting Coordinator for the Titans.
Papp earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Secondary Education from Valparaiso University in 2001. He will complete a Master of Science degree in Sports Administration from Valpo in August. Papp is also certified by the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer.
