XC competes in conference championships

Belmont, NC – The Pfeiffer men's and women’s cross country teams competed Saturday morning the Conference Carolinas cross country championship meet at Belmont Abbey College. The Falcons took 8th place, while the Lady Falcons earned 7th place.

Leading the men’s team were seniors Nick Jackson and AJ Pearson. Nick ran a career best 29:30 to finish 27th overall. Freshmen Cameron Auten and Deandre Crayton also scored for Pfeiffer finishing 46th and 54th respectively.

The women’s team was led by Stephanie Ryans who finished 20th overall with a time of 21:01. Stephanie was followed closely by her twin sister Samantha who finished 24th with a 21:13. Freshman Chessa Parisi finished with a time of 21:54. Magen Abernathy who had been battling flu-like symptoms finished with a 23:34, and senior Ellen Humphrey rounded out Pfeiffer five scoring runners. The women's team will compete next week at Wingate in the NCAA Regional meet.

Pfeiffer competes in their last meet of the season in two weeks in the NCAA Regionals at Wingate University.
