WBB helps families in need

053.jpgCharlotte, NC – On October 18, the Pfeiffer women’s basketball team assisted Habitat for Humanity by working on two houses in the Charlotte area.  The team dedicated their Saturday to prepare two houses for families in need.

Four players spent the majority of their time finishing a new home destined for the Lang family.  The women painted the outside of the house and finished dry wall work on the inside.  The rest of the team worked on an older home being refurbished.  The Lady Falcons crammed into the crawl space of the structure to rebuild the floors for the Buchanan family.  The Pfeiffer women jacked up the house and added cinderblocks to reinforce the flooring.  Aside from helping to provide housing for families in need, Habitat for Humanity also aims save homes and keep families in their current residence, even if there is major work to be done.

Head Coach Kevin Dobbs said this about the experience his team had, “We had the opportunity to work with a wonderful older couple from Charlotte and helped with some foundation issues in their house.  It was impressive to watch our players interact with the home owners, give of themselves and get dirty crawling around in the dirt all day."

Pfeiffer women’s basketball begins their season November 15 with a game at Lenoir Rhyne University.
