Richfield, NC – Coaches and players from the Pfeiffer men’s soccer team recently spent a day at Richfield Elementary School. The Falcon student-athletes volunteered to participate in and help run a school-wide field day. The group had the opportunity to work on teaching and coaching techniques, and at the same time spend the day playing games and having fun in the community.
The field day consisted of students in kindergarten through eighth grade moving between different activities every 25 minutes and the students were treated to soccer-based activities with the Pfeiffer Falcons. The groups played games that focused on soccer fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, and heading. At the end of the day Pfeiffer men’s soccer assistant coach Bruce Dietterle said, “We had a great time. The students had a lot of fun and learned some soccer skills at the same time. I think Richfield Elementary might have a few soccer stars in the making.”
