On Friday, the 35 member roster of the men’s varsity and junior varsity soccer teams were ready and waiting for nearly 300 new students to arrive. They greeted new students and their families by offering to help carry boxes, bedding, computers, and refrigerators. One parent who drove nearly 30 hours with is daughter to get to Pfeiffer expressed his excitement by saying, “It’s so great the soccer team is helping out. It really makes you feel welcome.”
The church-related vision of the university encourages students to embrace the Christian values of human dignity, integrity, and service as they become servant leaders and lifelong learners. All athletic teams aspire to serve the community as a group each semester. The men’s soccer team jumped at the chance to be able to lend a helping hand this past weekend.
