Men's Basketball Drains 20 Three-Pointers Rolling over Bobcats 124-65

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – All 13 members of the Pfeiffer University men’s basketball team scored at-least once in a 124-65 win over Lees-McRae in the Conference Carolinas opener on Tuesday night in Merner Gym. The Falcons connected on a 20 three-pointers shooting 64% from the field and from behind the three-point line in the victory. The Falcons improve to 3-2 overall, 1-0 in conference play while the Bobcats fall to 0-3, 0-1.
Pfeiffer bolted out to a 19-0 lead on a three-pointer by James Crowder (High Point, NC) with 13:23 to go in the first half. A free-throw by Jeremy Helms (Winston-Salem, NC) put the Bobcats on the board at 13:05 as he ended up scoring Lees-McRae’s first nine points. Helms registered 13 of Lees-McRae’s 19 first half points. Jeff Pettiway (Edgewood, MD) paced the Falcons in the first 20 minutes of action with 15 points followed by Reggie Hollinger’s (Orlando, FL) 10.
A Chris Woods (Thomasville, NC) dunk, three-ball by Pettiway and pair of free throws by James Morse (Arundel, ME) put Pfeiffer up 63-22 to start the second half before Morse helped the Falcons cross the century mark with another three ball with just under seven minutes remaining. Levi Moore (St. Augustine, FL) rounded out scoring on the night with a layup in the final minute.
Pfeiffer outscored Lees-McRae 60-24 from behind the arc and held the advantage in rebounds 39-25. Pettiway led all scorers with 24, followed by Crowder’s 19, Hollinger’s 18, Morse’s 16 and Woods’ 13. Sam Youse (Winston-Salem, NC) paced the Bobcats with 16 with Helms finishing the night at 15.
Pfeiffer gets back on the court on Saturday in a non-conference road matchup at Washington Adventist in Takoma Park, Maryland. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
