Snow Shortens Rendleman Invitational; Men's Golf Comes In 14th
March 2, 2010
MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Slow putting greens due to snow caused the Rendleman Inviational at the Salisbury Country Club to be shortened down to an 18-hole event instead of the planned 36-holes due to wintry weather on Tuesday. After play had started, tournament officials elected to call off the second round due to the snow. Pfeiffer University’s men finished 16th in the 18 team field.
Laurence Noott led the Falcons with a Monday round of 75 (36/39) finishing T-34. Marc Kourie (39/38) put together a 77 with Parker Robertson firing a 79 (37/42). Cameron Fields and Jonathan Miles each shot 80 and 81 in the first round, which held up as the final round scores.
Playing in back-to-back weeks, the men will now have a week and a half break before hosting the Piney Preamble the weekend of March 12-13.
