Falcons Struggle in 3-0 Defeat at King

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King College closed the home portion of the 2010 schedule with a 3-0 Conference Carolinas’ victory over Pfeiffer (N.C.) University Tuesday. The victory was also the ninth straight for the Tornado. King took the opener 30-25 before wins of 30-22 and 30-18 to complete the sweep. The Tornado improved to 11-5 behind the nine game winning streak, with a 3-4 conference record. Pfeiffer went to 7-12 overall and 1-5 against conference foes.
Senior Ariel Apolinario (Miami, Fla.) led King with 14 kills. He also served four aces. Fellow senior, Cameron Sitler (Pearland, Texas) had nine kills along with a pair of assists. Joel Salva (Lake Mary, Fla.) was credited with 43 assists as King racked up 52 kills. Morris Cephas (Richmond, Va.) had 27 digs.
Pfeiffer was led by Clancy Gay’s seven kills and Evan Fullerton’s 25 assists. The Falcons get back to action in league play Thursday hosting Limestone at 7:00 p.m
