Women's Tennis Bounced 8-1 by League-Leading Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Facing a red-hot women’s tennis team, Pfeiffer University dropped an 8-1 decision at league leading and unbeaten Queens on Tuesday afternoon at the Ovens Athletic Center. The victory moves the Royals to 12-0 on the season, 7-0 inside Conference Carolinas play. The Lady Falcons dip down to 9-5, 3-3.
Queens took all three doubles decision with 8-5, 8-0 and 8-6 decisions. Transferring over to singles, three of the matches went into a third set with two of those going to the hosts.
Elena Mileva and Kaitlyn Blakely scored three set wins at #1 and #6 singles over Pfeiffer’s Alena Krutkina and Chelsi Haefele. In matches three through five, the Royals cruised in straight set wins while the lone Lady Falcon point came at #2 as Patty Dominguez defeated Erin Williams 6-3, 2-6, 7-6.
Pfeiffer will get back to action on Wednesday afternoon traveling to Gaffney, SC for a 2:00 p.m. match at Limestone.
