Men's Volleyball Inks Two More for 2011 Campaign

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University head coach Ben Guiliano announced the signing of Lance Johnson and Steven “Buck” Boswell as additions to the men’s volleyball program beginning in August. The Falcons welcome in a 2009 state champion and team MVP holding three school records.
Johnson, hailing from Harrisburg, PA, scored a high school championship in 2009 as Mid Penn, district and eventual state champs. Johnson was named to the second team on both the Mid Penn All Stars and District III All Stars. In club action with Yorktowne, Johnson led his squad to a 17th-place finish at nationals with a .482 hitting percentage. The 6’3’’ middle blocker is also active in band at church and school. Johnson is the drummer for all choir events at church and held the same position all four years in high school with the marching band.
Boswell enters the village from Midlothian, VA, occupying the role of middle and outside hitter at Manchester High School. A team captain during his junior and senior seasons, Boswell also took home team MVP honors during his second and fourth years. The 6’3’’ hitter holds three schools records for kills in a game, season and career. His club resume includes a pair of years with the Richmond Volleyball Club finishing up this summer with the Mid Atlantic Volleyball Club.
