Despite Four Closely Contested Sets, Women's Volleyball Still Searches for First Win after 3-1 Loss at Belmont Abbey

BELMONT, N.C. - After dropping the first set, the Belmont Abbey volleyball team won three-straight sets to defeat the visiting Pfeiffer University Falcons 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-21, 27-25) on Tuesday night at the Wheeler Center. The Abbey moves to 7-2 overall and evens its Conference Carolinas mark to 1-1, while Pfeiffer drops to 0-9 overall and 0-3.
Angela Jubb blasted 14 kills on 28 total attacks with just five errors (.321) with two digs, a block solo and a block assist. Lydia Schellenberg added a double double with 11 kills and 13 digs. Older sister Kay Schellenberg handed out 37 assists to go along with seven kills three service aces and nine digs. Remick Tiller chipped in with nine kils and seven digs.
Kristina Mordini knocked down 13 kills to go along with five digs. Setter Colleen Wands and libero Kaci Markham both registered 12 digs. Wands handed out 21 assists. Jordan O'Bryant posted five digs, five block assists and three service aces.
Pfeiffer will search for its first win of the season on Saturday afternoon traveling to Erskine for a 1:00 p.m. match.
