Losing Streak Reaches Double Figures as Women's Volleyball Falls 3-1 at Erskine

DUE WEST, S.C. – Pfeiffer University’s Kristina Mordini (Freeport, IL) had a match high 16 kills but it wasn’t enough as Erskine College took a 3-1 (14-25, 14-25, 28-26, 20-25) victory in Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball action on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Fleet push their record to 8-4 overall and stand atop the league standings at 6-0. Pfeiffer continues its rough start dropping to 0-10, 0-4.
Erskine hit .377 for the match with two sets over .420. Jamie Murray paced the Lady Fleet with 15 kills followed closely by Sandra Campbell’s 14 and Alison Albers dozen. Larz Chabra had 44 assists while the hosts racked up 14 total team blocks in the win.
Behind Mordini, Kim Amerell (Lynchburg, VA) was the next closest Lady Falcon with eight kills. Colleen Wands (Apex, NC) dished out 37 assists while libero Kaci Markham (Asheboro, NC) dug up 22 shots. Pfeiffer did hit a season best .243 as a team despite the loss.
The Lady Falcons will go after their first win of the season next week with a pair of home contests against Mount Olive and Coker. Pfeiffer will entertain the Trojans on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. while taking on the Cobras on homecoming Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
