Women's Volleyball Rallies Back for 3-2 Win at Limestone; Awaits Final Seeding for Upcoming Conf. Tournament

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Pfeiffer University placed four members in double-digit kills and needed a rally in the fifth set to comeback and defeat Limestone College 3-2 (22-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13) in the 2010 regular season finale of Conference Carolinas action on Saturday morning. The win pushes the Lady Falcons to 12-15 overall, 11-7 in league play while the Lady Saints fall to 10-20, 6-13. Both teams are in the upcoming women’s volleyball tournament with final seeds being determined tonight.

Pfeiffer was led by Jordan O’Bryant (Reidsville, NC) and Kim Amerell (Lynchburg, VA) who each put down 11 kills in the five-setter. Kristina Mordini (Freeport, IL) and Abbie Ovbey (Mt. Gilead, NC) each had 10. Colleen Wands (Apex, NC) had a match-high 41 assists.

For Limestone, Jordan Preville had a match-high 14 kills while Danielle Enrico put down 13. Setter Danielle Siebert had 39 assists. Each team had five blocks on the afternoon and were virtually even on defense as the Lady Saints had 52 digs to Pfeiffer’s 51.

Seeds, times and locations for Tuesday’s first round action in the 2010 Conference Carolinas tournament will be released when that information becomes available.
