Cox Drains Career-High 27 as Women's Basketball Wins Conference Opener 79-72 at Erskine

DUE WEST, S.C. – Pfeiffer University guard Brittany Cox scored a career-high 27 points leading the Lady Falcons to 79-72 road win over Erskine College in Tuesday night’s Conference Carolinas women’s basketball opener at Belk Arena. Pfeiffer moves to 2-3 overall, 1-0 in league play while the Lady Fleet fall to 0-4, 0-1.
Behind Cox, Kia Rice also put up a career-high in points with 19 while Celeste Caudill was the other Lady Falcons in double-figures contributing 11. The stat sheet is even on both sides as Pfeiffer held the crucial 10-6 advantage in made triples. The Lady Falcons also converted 85% of their free throws.
Erskine put four scorers in double-digits led by Elizabeth Tatum’s 15 points. Porsha Morgan followed with 14 while Neci Allen had 13. Taylor Stewart was the other Lady Fleet in double-figures with 11.
Pfeiffer will return to action on Saturday hosting Newberry in non-conference action at 4:00 p.m. Admission will be free for all patrons on Saturday at the Merner Gym.
