Women's Soccer Inks Eight Newcomers for Fall of 2011

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University head women’s soccer coach Elijah Denton has announced that eight student-athletes have signed to play soccer with the Lady Falcons. Rachael Ramey (Fayetteville, NC), Britt Polly (Boca Raton, FL), Kayla Rodriguez (Beckley, WV), Katie Collins (Concord, NC), Bianca Moeller (Fredericksburg, VA), Kenzie Greene (Lenoir, NC), Katelynd Caudle (Yadkinville, NC) and Corinna Maxwell (Fayetteville, NC) will all enter Pfeiffer in the fall of 2011.

Ramey, a current forward at Jack Britt High School, is a three-time all-conference and all-region standout. The senior is also a two-time offensive player of the year and Brittany Sportsmanship award recipient. Ramey is a member of Jack Britt’s National Honor Society, Key Club and HOSA. Ramey played her club ball with the Triangle Futbol Club.

Polly hails from Boca Raton Community High School standing in net for the Bobcats. On the field, Polly is a volunteer soccer coach for Boys U14 in Boca Raton and is a certified grade 8 soccer referee. In the classroom, Polly is always busy with the National Honor Society, Pre-Med Club (HOSA), BASE and Triangles of Truth (community service clubs). The goalkeeper is also an AP scholar and treasurer of her pre-med club. Polly’s club soccer days were spent with Sunrise SC Fire.

Rodriguez will enter the village after her high school playing career at Woodrow Wilson. As a team captain, Rodriguez is a four-time first team all-conference selection, leading the Flying Eagles to four state championships from 2006-2010. Rodriguez was named to the state’s second-team as a freshman and first-team just a year later. The midfielder led her team in goals and assists in her final two seasons. Maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, Rodriguez spends time off the field with the National Honor Society, Spanish Club and running track. Her club days were spent between CFC Elite, West Virginia United and West Virginia ODP.

Collins, coming from nearby Concord and Central Cabarrus High School, is a MECA-6 all-conference selection as a defender. Collins held the highest average in health team relations in 2008, was an outstanding performer in English III in 2010 and is a member of HOSA, National Technical Honors Society and LINK crew. Collins has played her club soccer with the Charlotte Soccer Academy, South Charlotte Soccer Association and FC Carolina Alliance.

Moeller will come to Misenheimer from Chancellor High School in Fredericksburg as a goalkeeper. Also a member of the cross country team, Moeller has earned varsity letters in both cross country (three years) and soccer (four years). She earned a perfect SOL score in geometry in 2007 and has grabbed an athletic award for a 4.0 GPA or better. Playing club soccer with FASA Elite 92’, Moeller is a Spanish Club, Technology Student Association and Distinguished Honor Roll Member in her four years. Moeller has also finished with academic letters in all four years at Chancellor. 

Greene is a versatile multi-position athlete who can play at the midfield and forward positions. As a standout at Hibriten High School in Lenoir, she has earned her varsity letter in all four seasons while carrying a 4.57 GPA. Off the pitch, Greene is an Honor Graduate as well as Presidential, North Carolina and Caldwell County Scholar Athlete. A member of Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, American Field Service Club and Varsity Club, Greene managed to fit club soccer time in with CVYSA in Hickory.

Like Greene, Caudle can hold down time at the same two positions of midfield and forward playing her senior season now with Forbush High School. In her first three varsity seasons with the Falcons, Greene has been a three-time all-conference and all-region player with FHS. She is also a member of Future Teacher’s of America and is a multi-sport start playing three varsity seasons with Lady Falcons basketball. Her club soccer days were spent with YCSA Scream and Fusion Elite.

Maxwell, a back row defender will enter with her current teammate Ramey from Jack Britt High School. Maxwell is the 2010 MVP, all-conference, all-state and all-tournament player. She was the student body Vice President during her first two years while being involved with Sports Medicine, FCA and AVID. Maxwell split club time between five different programs including Triangle Futbol Club, Fayetteville Force, Blackout Soccer, Bakersfield Brigade and Bakersfield Gunners.

The 2011 edition of women’s soccer for Pfeiffer University will begin during the first weekend in September after capturing the 2010 Conference Carolinas tournament championship and making an appearance in the NCAA II National tournament.
