Women's Lacrosse Stumbles Against #3 Lock Haven 18-6

SALEM, V.A. – Lock Haven University, ranked #3 in the latest IWLCA women’s lacrosse poll, scored the first six goals on Friday afternoon rolling to an 18-6 victory over Pfeiffer University during a neutral site contest in Salem, Virginia. Lock Haven remains unbeaten at 2-0 to start the year while the Lady Falcons fall to 4-3.
Jessica Moulton temporarily stopped the bleeding with a free position shot goal at the 14:21 point of the first half. Sarah Hebberd followed with a goal at the 11:05 mark after an assist from Shannon Bonnel. After a quick response from Lock Haven, Alex Cook put home one of her team-high three strikes at the 6:32 mark of the first. Three more LHU goals increased the lead before Cook hit again with just 23 seconds left for an 11-4 Pfeiffer deficit at the break.
Lock Haven increased their advantage with four-straight goals to start the second 30 minutes until Cook and Hebberd hit back-to-back just over two minutes apart. Lock Haven closed out the afternoon with three more for the dozen point win.
Jamie Uzialko led Lock Haven with five goals on the afternoon while Jessica Pandolf scooped up five groundballs. Cook registered three more goals to lead the Lady Falcons while Katherine Athens picked up five balls off the ground with five caused turnovers.
Pfeiffer will have a quick turnaround before hosting #5 Le Moyne on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Falcons and Dolphins will have their first draw at 12:00 p.m.
