Men's and Women's Tennis Split Decisions with Limestone; Lady Falcons Win 7-1 While Men Fall 7-2

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University tennis split a pair of decision to Limestone College on Tuesday in Conference Carolinas men’s and women’s tennis action at the Knapp Tennis Center. The Lady Falcons scored a 7-1 win over the Lady Saints while the Limestone men took a 7-2 decision over the Falcons.

Pfeiffer (7-7, 3-2) took both of the doubles matches played on the ladies side 8-6 and 8-0. Briana Oliver and Chelsi Haefele blanked their Limestone counterparts in the number two positions. In singles, Alena Krutkina notched a one and three win at #1 while Cari Hopson, Haefele and Oliver didn’t drop a single set in 6-0, 6-0 wins.

On the men’s side, Philip Lawson and Johan de Wit notched a doubles point with an 8-6 win at #1 while Stephen Tyndel secured the lone singles point at number six winning 6-4, 3-6, 10-5 in a three-setter. Lawson and de Wit each suffered three-set losses at the first and second singles positions.

Pfeiffer returns to the courts on Thursday hosting Lander in non-conference action beginning at 2:30 p.m.
