Women's Golf Finishes Third; Men Wrap Up Fourth at 2011 Conference Carolinas Tournament

PINEHURST, N.C. - Both Pfeiffer University concluded the 2011 Conference Carolinas golf tournament inside the top five as the women finished third overall with a 988 team scoring improving each day while the men wrapped up fourth at 913. Belmont Abbey ran away in the women's event while Queens topped Coker by eight shots on the men's side.
Angela Gimenez paced the Lady Falcons with a T-4 finish winding up on the all-tournament team with a 234 three-day total. Gimenez was consistent posting a 78 each round. Chelsea Demers followed Gimenez with an 11th-place finish carding a 244 (83/82/79).
Steph Peareth, Jackie McMenimon and Kelly Hill each finished inside the top 20. Peareth rounded out T-14 with a 248 (83/82/83) while McMenimon carded a 262 (89/89/84) concluding 18th overall. Hill finished one shot back of McMenimon at 263 (89/90/84).
Louth, like Gimenez, finished on the men's all-tournament team ending sixth overall with a 224 (76/76/72). Also concluding inside the top-15 was Jonathan Miles at 228 (77/74/77) good enough for T-13 with teammate Michael Blair (82/73/73).
Luiz Jacintho and Chadd Marburger wrapped up team scores for the Falcons with a 238 (74/81/83) and 243 (84/77/82).
