June 21, 2011
MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University women’s soccer head coach Elijah Denton announces the signing of three more student-athletes who will join the Lady Falcons soccer program in August. Brittany Papaj (Sandy Hook, CT), Rebecca Kirchner (Matthews, NC) and Kaitlin Sampson (Middleton, MA) will all dawn the black and gold in just two months time.
Papaj, hailing from Newton High School, played four years of varsity soccer while tossing in a pair of varsity basketball seasons. An all-conference member at Newton playing in the midfield and on defense, Papaj also competed during five seasons in the Connecticut ODP. Her club ball outside of Newton was spent with the CUFC United Premier Team.
Kirchner, originally from Pittsfield, MA, played varsity soccer at Sun Valley High School in Matthews. The senior played defense on the back line as a stopper for the Spartans. Off the pitch, Kirchner was a member of Sun Valley’s HOSA.
Sampson joins the Lady Falcons out of Middleton as a two-time member of the Massachusetts All-Star team. As a defender, Sampson played both with Masconomet Regional High School and FC Stars of Massachusetts. In her spare time, Sampson also spent time with the school’s indoor track team.
The 2011 campaign begins on September 1st as the Lady Falcons host Newberry in the season opener at 4:00 p.m.
