Bobcats Offense Too Much for Women's Soccer in 3-0 Loss on Sunday

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – A balanced offensive attack put together by Lees-McRae College resulted in a 3-0 victory over Conference Carolinas women’s soccer action on Sunday afternoon at N.E. Lefko Field. The win pushes the Bobcats to 5-2 overall, 4-0 in league play while the Lady Falcons drop to 3-5, 2-2.
Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, IL) put in her first of two on the day in the 17th minute as Kaitlyn Kerrigan (Lakewood Ranch, FL) took a quick touch from the corner and found Rich for the strike. Mary Beth Sullivan (Greensboro, NC) put home the Bobcats second of the half in the 37th minute of play scoring unassisted with her shot sneaking just under the crossbar.
In the second half, Rich notched her final tally of the afternoon with a quick cross delivered by Ally Titsworth (Holmes Beach, FL). Titsworth sent her pass across the box as Rich headed home her third of the season for the game’s final goal.
For Pfeiffer, Tish Patino (East Bend, NC) had a pair of quality chances for the Lady Falcons, but was unable to convert on either attempt. Lees-McRae led 28-11 in shots overall, 20-3 being on cage. Kaitlyn Briggs (Oviedo, FL) made two saves in the win while Britt Polly (Boca Raton, FL) stopped 17 shots for the Lady Falcons.
The next three contests for Pfeiffer will come away from N.E. Lefko Field beginning with a league matchup at Mount Olive on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
