Women's Volleyball Falls 3-1 at Queens as Royals Mount Late Rallies

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte rallied after a first set loss to take a 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-19, 26-24) victory over Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball action on Friday night. The Royals move to 12-6 overall, 7-1 in league play, while the Lady Falcons drop to 7-8, 4-4.
In a set one win, Pfeiffer led for a majority of their four-point win before Queens had control in sets two and three. In the fourth set, the Lady Falcons had a lead as large as seven before the Royals rallied to take a 26-24 set and match win.
Keri Kemp led Queens with 17 kills on the night while Ashlyn Dibrell handed out 20 assists. For Pfeiffer, Kim Amerell put up a team-high 11 kills while Milana Mervosh followed closely behind with 10. Cate Glendenning dished out 35 assists while libero Colleen Wands popped up a dozen digs.
Pfeiffer will now enjoy a week off from play before hosting Belmont Abbey and Lees-McRae next weekend inside the Merner Gym. Friday night’s tilt with the Crusaders begins at 7:00 p.m. while Saturday’s matinee against the Bobcats begins at 2:00 p.m. Live video and stats will be available through http://www.gofalconsports.com.
