Bohon Leads Swim Team in Friday Night Meet with Queens & Brenau

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Queens University swept all dual meet results on Friday night at Merner Pool with host Pfeiffer and visiting Brenau. Queens defeated the Pfeiffer men 76-35 while the ladies defeated Pfeiffer 81-30 and Brenau 76-34. Brenau registered a team victory over the Lady Falcons 58-53 in the 22-event meet.
For the Lady Falcons, Samantha Maness finished the mile swim 1,650 yards) in 19:17 to finish second in front of teammate Morgan Dionne at 19:22. Cory Pooley and George Moreno did the same in the men's event finishing in 17:49 and 18:02 respectively.
In the men's 200 freestyle, Mark Franz, Taylor Hill and Jim Roddenbery went two, thre and four just four seconds apart from one another while Elijah Bohon later took an individual victory in the 200 individual medley by three seconds. Bohon put up another top three finish in the 100 freestyle concluding second in 49.24 seconds.
Robert Skinner and Moreno would finish second and third in the 100 backstroke before Matt Burns placed seconds in the 100 breaststroke. In the final 200 freestyle relay, Kim Benton, Yukina Onoda, Vicky Miller and Jillian Kniffen would finish third before Queens while the men finished second using the quartet of Bohon, Franz, Andrew Corley and Moreno.
Both teams are quickly back in action Saturday morning at the annual Boo Bash Relays hosted by Catawba College beginning at 10:00 a.m.
