Men's Volleyball Set to Host Conference Carolinas Tournament; Free Pizza to Fans and Prizes Given Away During "Blackout" Semifinals on Sunday!

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer University’s men’s volleyball team has wrapped up 2012 as the Conference Carolinas regular season championship and will be the top seed in the upcoming league’s tournament hosting both possible matches inside the Merner Gym. The Falcons will host fourth-seeded Lees-McRae on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas tournament and would host the championship match Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. with a victory over the Bobcats.

Pfeiffer ended the regular season 19-6 overall, 9-1 in league play after a 3-0 sweep of Barton on Wednesday night earning their first-ever conference title. On Sunday, free pizza will be handed out to the first 100 fans inside the doors starting an hour before match time. Prizes will also be thrown out during the course of the match. Fans are also encouraged to wear black as Pfeiffer will host a blackout for all tournament matches.

Pfeiffer swept Lees-McRae during the regular season with 3-1 victories in both matches. Should the Falcons move onto the championship match Wednesday, the Black and Gold would host the winner of #3 Mount Olive and #2 Limestone in the Merner Gym. Pfeiffer swept Mount Olive during the regular season while splitting with Limestone, each winning on their home floor.

Admission for the Conference Tournament rounds will be $5 at the door, students from participating schools will be admitted free with a student I.D.
