Elliot Gealy to Bring PGA Tour Experience as New Head Coach of Men and Women's Golf

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Director of Athletics Mary Ann Sunbury recently announced the hiring of Elliot Gealy as the new head coach of Men's and Women's Golf. Coach Gealy brings over a dozen years of professional golf experience to Pfeiffer University including a trip to the PGA Tour's 2011 U.S. Open held at Congressional Country Club.

Gealy has participated in hundreds of golf tournament around the world including local tours such as Tear Drop and Tar Heel, while including regional and national circuits such as Hooters, Nationwide and PGA Tours. Before the professional ranks, Gealy played collegiately at Clemson University leading the Tigers to a #1 ranking in 1998 and NCAA National Championship in 2003.

“We are thrilled to have Coach Gealy join our staff," remarked Sunbury. "Elliot is going to be a great source of inspiration while bringing invaluable experience for our players. He brings a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge to this position and we’re looking forward to having him here at Pfeiffer."

Instruction experience comes with time spent at the Mike Bender Golf Academy with stops in Lake Mary, Florida and Seoul, South Korea. Gealy was responsible for managing all golf instructional events and providing golf instruction while monitoring daily instruction activities.
