Women's Volleyball Drops Second-Straight League Match Falling 3-0 at Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women’s volleyball team earned a 3-0 straight set victory over Pfeiffer University on Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball action. The Cobras opened the match with two impressive victories, 25-14 and 25-13. Pfeiffer kept things interesting in the third set, but Coker prevailed with a 25-23 victory in the third set. Coker picks up their first win of the season improving to 1-10 overall, 1-1 in league play while the Lady Falcons fall to 1-8, 0-2.
Taylor Willis and Catie Truzzolino had nine kills each to lead the Cobras, while April Griggs added six kills. Samantha Celek handed out 25 assists and Hannah Cabaniss had a team leading nine digs.
Pfeiffer’s Milana Mervosh and Brianna Jones were the kill leaders for the Falcons with six each, while Cate Glendenning had nine digs.
The Lady Falcons return home on Wednesday night to open up the home portion of Conference Carolinas play against Converse. First serve is 7:00 p.m. with live stats and video being available through http://www.gofalconsports.com.
