Nation's Leading Scorer Nets Hat Trick as Men's Soccer Falls 4-1 to Palm Beach Atlantic

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Aided by a hat trick from Kenny Hogg (Irvine, SCOTLAND, the nation’s current leading scorer, visiting Palm Beach Atlantic scored a 4-1 victory over Pfeiffer University in non-conference men’s soccer action on a wet Sunday afternoon at N.E. Lefko Field. The Sailfish stay unbeaten at 6-0 on the year with the win while the Falcons drop to 0-6.
Hogg started the day with his 12th of season 3:51 into Sunday’s matinee after a touch pass delivered by teammate Evan Singlar (Currituck, NC) from the end line. In the 34th minute, AJ Black (Plant City, FL) sent a corner kick to the foot of Hogg who found the back of the net for his 13th of the year and a 2-0 Sailfish lead.
Just past the hour in the 61st minute, the Falcons’ Kyle Toler (Charlotte, NC) dribbled through several defenders before clanking his shot off the left post and in for his first of the season and a 2-1 deficit. Eight minutes later, Hogg would complete his three-goal afternoon converting a Sailfish penalty kick before Kevin Ireland (Kilmarnock, SCOTLAND) added insurance in the 85th minute after a cross from James Kaim (Niceville, FL).
The Sailfish outshot the Falcons 20-7 in the match and took all seven corners. Jonathan Strunk (Evanston, IL) turned away three shots in net for Palm Beach Atlantic while Zach Liles (Cumming, GA) stopped seven for Pfeiffer.
