October 23, 2012
MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Brittany Papaj’s (Sandy Hook, CT) 67th minute goal sent Pfeiffer University past Converse College 1-0 in Conference Carolinas women’s soccer action on Tuesday afternoon. The victory assures the Lady Falcons of a playoff spot in next week’s conference tournament improving to 8-6-2 overall, 6-2-2 in league play while the Valkyries drop to 7-9-2, 3-6-2.

Converse would come within inches of the game-tying goal in the 76th minute as Georgia Jones (Solihull, ENGLAND) had a one-on-one break and sent her wide open shot wide left.
Pfeiffer would hold a decisive 20-5 shots advantage on the day, 7-3 on target. Five corner kicks in each half would also give the Lady Falcons a 10-1 margin in those set pieces.
