Louth Leads Men's Golf to Third Place Finish in Final Fall Event
October 30, 2012
MORRISTOWN, T.N. - Pfeiffer University finished an abbreviated Walters State Fall Classic in third place during the Monday and half-day Tuesday men's golf tournament in Tennessee. Tuesday's round was shortened to nine holes due to effects from Hurricane Sandy.
Tyson Louth, Ryan Franklin and Thomas Sennett would help the Falcons get to within five shots of the overnight lead firing first round 76's. Alex Valls would post a 78 while J.D. Lamm carded an 81 in Monday's opening round.
In a rare nine hole outing on Tuesday, Louth led again with a 38 followed by Valls and Franklin posting 41's. Sennett would finish with a 42 along with Lamm.
Pfeiffer shot a tournament total 468 to finish nine shots back of Tusculum who won the overall team event. The Pioneers’ Warren Cheney won a seven-hole playoff to take home individual medalist honors.
The Falcons will now take the winter off before picking up the 2013 spring schedule in late February hosting the Irish Creek Invitational in Kannapolis.
