Kassab Dominates with Seven Goals as Women's Lacrosse Opens Conference Play with 18-6 Win over Converse

ALBEMARLE, N.C. - Pfeiffer University opened up 2013 Conference Carolinas play with an 18-6 victory over Converse College in women's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Falcons improve to 2-0 overall, 1-0 in league play while the Valkyries fall to 0-3, 0-2.
Shannon Bonnel scored the game's first goal for Pfeiffer 34 seconds in until Converse responded with goals from Jordy Taylor and Sam Green to take a 2-1 lead. The Lady Falcons would go on to score the next eight goals grabbing a 9-3 halftime lead. Ashleigh Kassab would score four of her seven goals in that stretch to help guide the Lady Falcons. Green would add her second just before the half expired for Converse.
In the second, Sarah Daly, along with Kassab, opened up scoring before Converse added three-straight as Green completed her hat trick. Pfeiffer would go on to register the final seven goals with two coming from Kassab and two from Kristi Korn.
Behind Kassab's seven, Korn would finish with three on the day while Carly Garrison, Daly and Bonnel each scored one. Garrison would also add a game-high three assists while Kassab added two helpers. Kassab's dominance continued with a game-high five groundballs, five draw controls and four caused turnovers.
