Daly's Six-Point Afternoon Leads Women's Lacrosse to 11-6 Win over #15 Florida Southern

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University found the back of the net eight times in the first half en route to an 11-6 victory over #15 Florida Southern in non-conference women’s lacrosse action on a soggy Tuesday afternoon. The match marked the second-straight home game moved to a neutral site due to unplayable field conditions at N.E. Lefko Field. The Lady Falcons improve to 3-0 on the year while the Mocs even to 1-1.
Ashleigh Kassab started things off with a free position shot goal 2:47 into the contest before Kristi Korn tallied back-to-back goals four minutes apart for a 3-0 lead. Shannon Bonnel sandwiched her first of three on the day in between a pair of Florida Southern goals for a 4-2 lead midway through the half. Bonnel would register two of the final Lady Falcons’ four goals in the half while Sarah Daly and Kassab had the others.
Florida Southern would out-score Pfeiffer 4-3 in the second half as the Mocs started the scoring as each team rotated through tallies. Daly would record all three Pfeiffer goals to complete her afternoon with a team-high four goals. Daly would also added two assists in the victory while Kassab picked up six groundballs. Pfeiffer would scoop up 39 in the victory while causing 13 turnovers.
The Lady Falcons return to action over the weekend hosting St. Leo on Saturday before welcoming Southern New Hampshire on Sunday. Live stats will be available for both games at http://www.gofalconsports.com.
