Ellen Named Softball's Player of the Week after Hitting .615 in Five-Game Stretch

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Ashlee Ellen has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week during week six of the 2012 – 2013 Softball season. Ellen (Jacksonville, FL) put together a monster week at the plate hitting .615 as the Lady Falcons went 3-2 in the five conference games appeared in.
Starting with game two against Barton, Ellen went 2-for-2 belting her first of two homers to provide Pfeiffer with a 3-0 victory over the Bulldogs. Against Erskine, Ellen would add another hit and produce the game-winning sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eight for a 3-2 victory over the Fleet. Against Coker on Sunday, Ellen went a combined 5-for-7 at the dish with three doubles, a homer, four RBI and pair of runs scored in a split with the Cobras.
In game one, Ellen went a perfect a 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and RBI in a 3-1 victory before keeping the Lady Falcons around in game two with two more hits, a double and three-run homer, to finish her week. Ellen wrapped up her week hitting .615 going 8-for-13 at the plate with three doubles, a pair of homers, seven RBI and four runs scored. Ellen would also add two walks amidst her 1.308 slugging percentage over the five-game span.
Ellen and the Lady Falcons will host Lock Haven on Tuesday before getting back into league play welcoming North Greenville on Saturday afternoon.
