Lyle Leads Women's Golf to Seventh Place Showing at Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University women's golf team wrapped up the 2013 Pinehurst Challenge in seventh place topping five other conference schools ot the 5,378-yard, par 72 layout of the National Golf Club. Lauren Lyle would lead the Lady Falcons with a pair of 81's to finish tied for 17th individually.
Behind Lyle, Danielle Haizlip would improve nine shots from round one's 86 to a final round 77 on Tuesday. Stefania Valgeirsdottir took four fewer shots in round two posting an 81 while Katie Nance and Georgi Hoeksema finished with two-day totals of 171 and 192.
Host Wingate took home team honors with a two-day 634 to top Armstrong Atlantic by six strokes. Meghan Moore of UNC Pembroke recieved medalist honors with a tournament total of 149 carding rounds of 76 and 73.
The Lady Falcons will have one more tournament before the annual Conference Carolinas tournament playing in the Agnes McAmis Memorial hosted by Tusculum in Greeneville, Tennessee April 8th and 9th.
