MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer University and visiting North Greenville swapped a pair of 3-2 wins, both in extra-innings, during Conference Carolinas softball action on Friday afternoon. Both teams were originally scheduled to play on Saturday but moved the twinbill up 24 hours to be oncoming weather. Pfeiffer ends the day at 12-16 overall, 4-6 in league play while the Crusaders drop to 8-12, 4-6.
Pfeiffer would score early in the first as reigning conference player of the week Ashlee Ellen continued her tear with a RBI-double to right-center scoring Sadie Saine. On the same play, Hannah Jackson would score on a throwing error to make it 2-0 Lady Falcons. North Greenville would tack on the game-tying runs in the sixth using two Pfeiffer errors before registering the game-winner in the ninth on a Rachel Glazebrook single to left.
Again in game two, a pair of early runs for the hosts faded away late as North Greenville again scored two to help force extra innings. In the first, Ellen singled home Saine once again while Saine doubled home Celia Dew for a 2-0 lead in the second. In the fourth, a Kimberly Robertson groundout and Amy Nagel RBI-single would knot things up at two as North Greenville once again tallied two more unearned runs. In the eighth, Khristin Isley would become the hero lacing a single to left scoring Jaclyn Boever for a 3-2 walkoff win. Pfeiffer would pound North Greenville in the hit department 12-4 in game two.
