MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Visiting Georgia College pounded out 32 runs on 41 hits en route to a doubleheader sweep over host Pfeiffer University in non-conference baseball action on Friday afternoon. The 11-9 and 21-2 wins move the Bobcats to 20-9 on the year while the Falcons fall to 13-22.

In game one, Pfeiffer jumped on the Bobcats with five runs in the bottom of the second starting with a Cole McGraw single to right. After Matt Wade reached on a fielder’s choice and Johnny Brown, Jr. loaded the bases on a hit by pitch, Kyle Hackney delivered the first run with a sacrifice fly to center as McGraw scored an unearned run from third. Kyle Lindley would belt a two-run single down the left-field line three pitches while Kevin Price smacked a two-run double to left-center just eight pitches later.

Georgia College responded with two in the third as Clay Ardeeser lined a two-run homer to right after Jake Sandlin led off with a single to right. In the fourth, the Bobcats took a 6-5 lead with a four-run frame using a Sandlin RBI single to right and a three-run laser that stayed just inside the left-field foul pole for a 6-5 lead.

The Bobcats added a run on a wild pitch in the sixth to make it a two-run advantage before the Falcons cashed in on a McGraw leadoff single in the bottom of the inning coming around on a Hackney double to left. Dalton Lindley would tie things up with a sac-fly to right moments later that brought home Wade. Again, the Bobcats responded with a bases loaded hit by pitch to Sandlin put the visitors back on top in game one 8-7. A solo homer by Steve Hazel and RBI single from Rob Hogenkamp provided insurance for the Bobcats in the three-run eighth.

Sandlin would collect his third RBI to cap off the inning. The back-and-forth trend would continue and end in the bottom of the eight as a single by Hackney and two-run bomb to left by Lindley cut the four-run lead down to its final margin of two at 11-9.

Sandlin, Ardeeser and Hogenkamp each collected three of Georgia College’s 17 hits in the opener while Lindley had three hits for the Falcons and five RBI. Pfeiffer ended with 13 hits staying close by stranding 13 Bobcat runners on in game one.

Georgia College wasted no time striking first in game two as a leadoff single by Sandlin paid off as Daniel Bick laced a two-run shot to left for an early 2-0 lead. Hazel would follow with a two-bagger to left-center for a 3-0 advantage while Cody Maas contributed with a run-scoring single to left.

The Bobcats added one more in the second as Sandlin continued his Saturday tear before Bick drove him in with a double to left. Georgia College tacked on two more in the third as Jeremy Donaldson scored Hazel and Ikaika Anderson plated Davidson, both using two-base hits.

Jon Gray got the Falcons on the board in the third with a solo homer down the left-field line. Earlier in game one, Taylor Hinshaw would rob Gray of a home run timing his jump perfectly in the first inning. Georgia College would continue their tear in a four-run fourth capped off by a Hogenkamp three-run blast to left.

Hinshaw and Hazel would start to close out the afternoon with RBI singles in the three-run fifth. Georgia College would save their best inning for the sixth scoring seven more as Donaldson delivered a three-run double to right-center followed by a Maas two-run dinger to center. McGraw would give Pfeiffer its final run of game two with a solo homer to right-center in the bottom of the frame.
