Kassab Named Conference Carolinas Final Player of the Week for Women's Lacrosse

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Ashleigh Kassab has been selected as the final NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week during week nine of the 2012–2013 Lacrosse season. Kassab tied a school-record on Saturday afternoon posting nine goals during a 17-9 win over Queens to clinch the #2 seed in this weekend's Conference Carolinas tournament.
Kassab started her day with the game's first strike 49 seconds in while later tying the contest for the first time at 2-2 with 25:04 left in the first half. Later tied at 3-3, Kassab would register back-to-back goals to push the Lady Falcons lead to its largest of the day at two. The sophomore attack would add two more to round out the first half with six of her nine tallies. In the second half, Kassab would score on back-to-back ocassions for the final time and add her ninth goal of the day with 10:22 remaining in the half. In addition to her two groundballs, Kassab would take 10 shots, all 10 on goal, with her nine finding the back of the net.
