April 29, 2013
MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer University announces that Robert (Bob) Reasso has been named vice president for athletics, athletic director and head coach for men’s soccer. Reasso, a 1973 Pfeiffer graduate, former student-athlete and a member of the Pfeiffer Sports Hall of Fame, comes to Pfeiffer from Husson University, Bangor, Maine.
Previously, he coached men’s soccer at Rutgers University where he led the Scarlet Knights to 13 NCAA tournament appearances, three Final Four tournaments and, in 1990, was named National Coach of the Year.
“Pfeiffer is excited that Bob Reasso is returning to his alma mater; his success in coaching, marketing and overseeing the academic development of students-athletes is exactly what Pfeiffer needs,” said President Michael C. Miller. “Bob’s stature and prowess as an athletic administrator and soccer coach is well documented on a national and global level and the Pfeiffer community is delighted that he will share that experience with students, student-athletes, coaching staff, faculty, staff and alumni.”
Mr. Reasso echoes the positive sentiments of President Miller.
“I am honored, humbled and incredibly excited to be coming back to Pfeiffer University,” he said. “Pfeiffer provided the platform for all the success I have had in my career; the university has great vision and I look forward to working with administration as well as our coaches, student athletes and everyone in the Pfeiffer community to make it come true.”
