Falcons Sign Evans to National Letter of Intent
May 9, 2013
"We are really excited to have Xavier join our program," said Currier. "We think he will be a great fit at Pfeiffer University, both as a person and as a player. He is an intelligent player with a great deal of experience and he has a skillset that perfectly fits our program. Xavier has terrific instincts on the court that leads him to being a great passing point guard that makes others around him better."
A 6 foot 4, 180 pound point guard from Melbourne, Australia, Evans captained the Waverly Falcons under 18 Victorian Championship Team which finished 1st at the Norwood Junior Classic tournament in Adelaide, Australia, and finished 3rd at the McDonald’s National Junior Classic Tournament. Evans averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game as a senior. Evans was the recipient of the A.M & G.R Nicholas Award for exemplary leadership, and earned the Wesley College Coaches Award for his leadership skills.
Sedale Threatt, 19 year NBA veteran and current Director of the Australian Basketball Digest called Evans a “big point guard that plays with a high IQ. Xavier has great ability to use his size to get into the lane to either finish or create for others, and is an excellent passer. He is a good shooter from both mid-range and from three.”
Evans joins the signing Falcons signing class that already includes Charlie Wagoner (Boonville, NC) from North Forsyth High School.
