Falcons Gearing Up for Heavy Conference Slate on Alumni Weekend

MISENHEIMER, NC - Pfeiffer University will welcome their Conference Carolinas neighbors to the south this weekend as the Falcons host Belmont Abbey College for two days of collegiate athletic action. The weekend is also slated as Pfeiffer's Homecoming Weekend which will be highlighted by the 2013 Pfeiffer Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday night.
Also on Friday night, the Pfeiffer University women's volleyball team (2-9, 1-1 Conference Carolinas) will host Belmont Abbey (7-3, 1-1) Merner Gym at 7 p.m. The contest will be the first meeting of the season for the conference foes. The match will also be the first home contest for the Lady Falcons of the 2013 season. Pfeiffer is coming off 12 straight road games to start the season and Belmont Abbey will be coming off a six day break.
Soccer is the sport of the day for Saturday with two contests highlighting the action at N.E. Lefko Field. The first contest of the day will see the Pfeiffer University women's soccer team (3-3, 1-0) take on Belmont Abbey (5-1, 1-0) with kickoff slated for 2 p.m. The Lady Falcons enter the weekend on a three game win streak and take on a Belmont Abbey team currently sitting atop the Conference Carolinas leaderboard.
The Pfeiffer University men's soccer team (2-3-1, 0-1) will kickoff against Belmont Abbey (2-3, 0-1) at 4 p.m. immediately following the women's contest. Belmont Abbey comes off a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Lees-McRae to drop their first conference contest. The Falcons are also looking to bounce back following a tough loss to King University this past weekend.
