MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Junior midfielder Kayla Rodriguez recorded a hat trick in the first 9:44 of play to lead the Pfeiffer women’s soccer team (6-5) to a dominating 13-0 victory at Chowan. Ten different Lady Falcons recorded a goal in the contest and Natalie Marsh and Kate Halligan combined for the shutout in net. Pfeiffer outshot Chowan 41-6 on the afternoon.
Rodriguez opened the scoring just over two minutes into the match as she took a cross from Brae Buster and beat the keeper. 1:53 later, Katie Collins recorded the helper on Rodriguez’s second score. Her third goal came in the 10th minute as she put home a penalty kick to give Pfeiffer the 3-0 lead. Hannah Hill pushed the lead to four with a goal in the 17th minute and Miracle Campbell and Jennifer Baity extended the lead to six before the half. At the end of the first 45 minutes, Pfeiffer led in shots 20-2 and corners, 5-1.
