Men's Lacrosse Announces 2014 Schedule
November 18, 2013
MISENHEIMER, NC – The Pfeiffer men’s lacrosse team has announced its 2014 schedule after a successful 13-4 campaign a season ago. This year will be the first season for Head Coach Jason Lange as he takes over a program that has increased its win total each of the last four seasons.
The Falcons will take on four teams that represented the South Region in the NCAA Tournament last season, including Mercyhurst, last year’s National Runner Up. Mercyhurst fell in the championship game to LeMoyne by one goal, 11-10. Pfeiffer will look to avenge last season’s 9-8 loss to the Lakers when they travel to Erie, PA on March 1.
Pfeiffer opens the season on Feb. 8 as they host Florida Southern at noon. A week later, Pfeiffer will travel to Mars Hill, where Lange was an assistant coach prior to joining the Falcons, to take on the Lions at 2 p.m.
Conference play starts on Feb. 23 when Pfeiffer travels to Banner Elk, NC to take on Lees-McRae at 2 p.m.
The Falcons will have a six-game home stand from March 11-April 2, including conference games against Belmont Abbey and Mount Olive. The regular season wraps up with trips to St. Leo and Limestone leading to the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
“We are excited about the upcoming season,” said Lange. “I think our practice schedule will prepare us for our ultimate goal of a conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.”
