Pfeiffer Women's Basketball Signs Versatile Guard
December 16, 2013
MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Versatile guard Dajea Scott is the first recruit to sign with Pfeiffer for the 2014-15 season. Scott is currently leading undefeated Walt Williams High School in Burlington, N.C.
"First and foremost, the academic and social fits go hand-in-hand with the basketball piece," said Pfeiffer Head Coach Roy Dow. "Dajea is very impressed with our highly-regarded nursing program, and to that end, Pfeiffer continues to distinguish itself from our competitors in higher education by embracing the student-athlete's academic goals and nurturing that experience to the desired academic outcome. Specific to Dajea's interest in the nursing, so many universities openly discourage the choice of that academic discipline in combination with the intercollegiate athletic commitment. At Pfeiffer we see the incredible value in each pursuit and embrace our opportunity to support the student-athletes."
On the court, Scott has enjoyed a high level of production each season for the Williams Bulldogs.
Dow, who is in his first season with the Falcons, sees Scott contibuting right away for Pfeiffer.
"Dejea is a college-ready guard," said Dow. "She will play extended minutes immediately. Her competitive toughness coupled with her physical ability and basketball skills is a wonderful combination. She will be able to be a factor on the offensive and defensive ends of the court."
