Men's Tennis Drops Conference Opener

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Pfeiffer men’s tennis team (2-1, 0-1 CC) suffered their first setback on the season with a loss to North Greenville (2-6, 1-0 CC) by a score of 6-3.
Pfeiffer took care of business in the first doubles set as the team of Loic Minery and Sebastian Wernecke won by a score of 8-6. North Greenville captured the remaining two points in doubles competition as the number two position won 8-6 and the number three position won by a score of 8-4.
Pfeiffer looked to start out strong as Minery succeeded in the number one position winning 6-4, 6-2. With the points tied up, it was Axel Woerner who gave the advantage to the Falcons as he won in the number two slot by a score of 6-1, 6-2.
However, the rest of the match belonged to North Greenville as they swept through the next four positions to seal the victory.
The Falcons return to action Monday, Feb. 24 as they travel to Catawba. The match is set to start at 3:00 p.m.
