Baseball Places Seven on All-Conference Teams; Summers and Greene Earn First Team Honors

High Point, N.C. – Conference Carolinas announced its regular season award winners at tonight’s awards banquet in Burlington, NC. The Conference Carolinas All-Conference baseball teams were determined by votes from each head coach of participating league institutions.

Pfeiffer was well represented on the list, placing seven players on the All-Conference First and Second Teams.

Senior 3B Tyler Summers and sophomore SP Ethan Greene were selected to the First Team All-Conference. Summers ended the season with 24 multi-hit performances in his team’s 47 regular season games. Summers finished the year with a .380 batting average which placed him fifth among the conference leaders. Summers was also in the top five in the conference in hits (71), stolen bases (19) and at bats (187) and had a 14-game hit streak.

Greene went 6-3 on the mound and sported a 4.00 ERA. Greene was the most durable pitcher in the league as his 87.2 innings pitched led the conference. The right hander was fifth in the league with 63 strikeouts and tossed a complete game shutout of Southern New Hampshire on Feb. 21. Greene also took a no-hitter into the top of the 7th inning against North Greenville on March 21.

Pfeiffer’s C Dalton Lindley, 2B Cole McGraw, OF Jon Gray, RP Hunter Jobe and SP Tyler Lequire garnered Second Team All-Conference selections. For Gray, it was his second straight selection to the All-Conference team as the senior was named to the First Team last year. Freshman Jobe was second in the league in wins while pitching out of the bullpen and junior Lequire threw a complete game shutout against No. 12 Franklin Pierce on Feb. 22.
