Pfeiffer Sports Hall of Famer Sherrill Wraps Up Another Championship Season

MISENHEIMER, NC – Pfeiffer alum and Sports Hall of Fame member, Monty Sherrill, wrapped up another incredibly successful season as the head softball coach at Alexander Central.

Sherrill’s team finished the season with a 35-0 record and was ranked No. 1 in the nation by the USA Today. Sherrill’s daughter, Veda, was named the Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for North Carolina and his other daughter, Bailey, was named the State Tournament MVP as the squad won the 4A State Championship.

In his 25 seasons, Sherill has posted a 722-59 record and won nine state championships. He was inducted into the Pfeiffer Sports Hall of Fame in the Fall.
