 Sparatanburg, SC---The Pfeiffer men's cross country team placed fifth in the 2007 Conference Carolinas Championship on Saturday. Over half of the men's team ran personal best times this morning, led by All Conference runner Matt Tyndall who finished with a 27:05. Senior Brandon Whittaker finished second for Pfeiffer with a 27:50.
Coach Nolt said, "The guys ran a great race today. We knew what we had to do to challenge the top four teams in the conference, and even though we fell a little short of breaking into the top four, we went after it today. It is really a testament to how good our Conference has gotten when we can put five guys in under 28:40 and still finish fifth overall. In two weeks we'll go to Wingate and try and beat our 9th place regional ranking." The Regionals will take plae at Wingate University on Saturday, November 3rd.
