MURFREESBORO, N.C. Ė Thanks to seven first-half goals, the Pfeiffer Falcons cruised to a 8-0 victory over the Chowan Hawks in menís soccer action on Saturday afternoon. Pfeiffer scored their sixth-straight win improving to 8-3 overall while Chowan falls to 1-10.
Pfeiffer outshot the Hawks 34-5 as eight different Falcons scored, while nine total players ended up in the scoring summary. Johannes Tisell started off out the outburst with just under six minutes in after a cross by Kash Knight. Tisell and Knight then hooked up to assist Renato Barbosa on his goal just over 10 minutes later. 27 seconds later, Knight and Barbosa switched roles as Knight headed home his team-leading tenth tally of the season.
Knight put his name on the fourth goal of the day assisting on Jeff Cannonís tally in the 19th minute. Alex Landim would beat two defenders 20 minutes in for an unassisted strike while Nick Brindley put home a penalty kick in the 24th minute. Tisell picked up his second helper of the day just before the half as Dany Bardizbanian scored his first of the season with 39 seconds left.
Pat Treadwell rounded out the scoring with a tally in the 81th minute on an assist from Boo Tesh. Alex Moreno and Daniel Latasa, each playing a half, combined on the shutout.† Moreno stopped the lone shot on goal by Chowan in the first half.
Pfeiffer will get back into Conference Carolinas play on Tuesday at Coker.
