HIGH POINT, N.C. - Pfeiffer University’s Johannes Tisell (9-3-0 overall, 5-1-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's soccer Player of the Week during week number seven in the 2009 season. This is the second-straight week a Falcon has taken home player of the week honors, third overall this season.
A freshman defender, Tisell paced Pfeiffer University to a 2-0 record this week, pushing the Falcons to their sixth-straight win, with a pair of goals and three assists. On Tuesday vs. Barton, Tisell assisted on the Falcons second goal of the day before putting home his first goal of the week in the 50th minute during a 4-0 win against the Bulldogs. In a non-conference tilt at Chowan on Saturday, Tisell started the rout of the Hawks with a goal just five minutes in while assisting on the team's second and seventh goals during an 8-0 victory.
Tisell and the men’s soccer team gets back to Conference Carolinas action this afternoon (Tuesday) in a 7:00 p.m. match at Coker.
