WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS SATURDAY MATCHES; WRAPS UP PBC/CC CROSSOVER 1-2

SAVANNAH, GA - The top two teams in the Peach Belt volleyball standings, Flagler and host Armstrong Atlantic, each won twice to finish the 2009 PBC/Conference Carolinas Crossover with perfect 3-0 marks after the final day of play in Savannah. Pfeiffer wrapped up the weekend with a 1-2 mark.

The Flager Saints then were taken to four sets by Conference Carolinas-leading Pfeiffer (17-8) but prevailed, 25-11, 25-13, 29-27, 25-14. Katie Beale led the way with 17 kills and 14 digs for Flagler, while Meg Weathersby added 16 kills, 13 digs and four blocks and Justine Burkhardt notched 11 kills and 16 digs.

Pfeiffer was led by Brittany Dickens' nine kills and Vanessa Gerig's 24 assists and 16 digs.

The Falcons picked up a win earlier in the day with a 26-24, 16-25, 25-21, 25-22 win over Augusta State (19-10) to finish the tournament with a 1-2 mark. Dickens again led the way with 19 kills followed by Mordini's 17. Jordan O'Bryant has a dozen kills while Gerig finished with 42 assists and 17 digs.

Pfeiffer will host Lees-McRae on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night. All fans are encouraged to wear pink on Tuesday.
