WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL REBOUNDS FROM SLOW START AT ABBEY FOR 3-1 WIN; CLINCHES #2 SEED IN CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT

BELMONT, NC - The Belmont Abbey volleyball team fell in four sets to the visiting Pfeiffer University Falcons this evening at the Wheeler Center. Scores were 21-25, 25-22, 20-25 and 17-25. Pfeiffer improves to 19-11 overall and 14-3 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey slips to 6-17 overall and 6-10 in Conference Carolinas. With the win, the Lady Falcons clinch the #2 seed in next week's conference tournament.

Belmont Abbey hit .175 for the match as Bria James posted a double double, recording 12 kills and ten digs. Steffanie Holler and Angela Jubb both added seven kills. Remick Tiller registered a .385 total attack, knocking down five kills on 13 total attacks with no errors. Jubb tied for the match high with three service aces. Kay Schellenberg handed out 34 assists.

Defensively, the Abbey posted three total blocks as Holler and Schellenberg collected one solo block each, while Jubb and Morgan Kirby both had a block assist.

Pfeiffer hit .235 as Jordan O'Bryant led all players with 16 kills,w hile Kristina Mordini posted 15. Brittany Dickens had 11 and Abbie Ovbey chipped in with ten. Vanessa Gerig posted 39 assists and three service aces. Defenisively, the Falcons posted 49 digs as Kaci Markham's 12 led all players. She was the only Pfeiffer player in double figures.
